Optimal Well-Being
I would have to say that meditation and visualization
methods are the two I am going to go with. As far as the meditation part of it
I would have to say that I have learned that the art of meditation really puts
your mind in a whole in level. It gives you a clearer state of thinking along
with reacting. I think that it frees your body of negative energy and ill
feelings. I noticed using meditation when I found myself in a dark place and it
was like my mind knew to shut down and go to a zen mode and refocus my thoughts
and energies on what was important and shift to a better place. As far as the
visualization aspect I used this in my job. I remember someone telling me a
long time ago keep your eye on the prize. And that is what I am doing to stay
focused in school so I can get ahead in the workplace. Where I work now I know
I will never be able to move ahead but by me going to school and earning my
degree I will be able to utilize that elsewhere and be able to grow and be
appreciated and be valued. It is a hard task and it is a hard thing to do but
with determination and hard work there is nothing in this world that I am not accomplish.
Life is a journey and life lesson and we are all the same train trying to make
it in life.

Tanya,
It is difficult to work in a position knowing you don't have opportunities for upward mobility, and I think it is an admirable quality to stick with it until you can finish your degree. I can understand how meditation can help you focus on the end result, or the prize, and help you view your situation as a stepping stone to your goals. You have a great attitude, and I think that makes all the difference. Best of luck on your journey, but it sounds like you have enough determination that you won't need luck :)

I know what you mean with your job. I had to leave my career job so that my husband could go back to school because it meant moving out of State. So now I work a part time job as a lifeguard/swim instructor. It's really strange to go backwards from a career to more of a high school job and working with mostly young people. I just found out they are giving one of the coordinator positions to this really young obnoxious kid. Unfortunately I haven't been there long enough to be considered, but it would have been perfect. And now a teenager gets to tell me what to do! LOL. This will be a hoot! It'll be great when we are all graduated and can move on to bigger and better things. God bless you and hang in there! ; )
I could not agree more about meditation, it really does help to clear the mind, body and soul. We can find a oneness with ourselves and find a deeper understanding of our thoughts and feelings. I like to end my meditation by blowing out my candles and just visualizing all my stresses, unwanted emotions and hurts go away with the smoke of the candles. I cannot tell you how helpful that is and just makes me feel so peaceful.
I agree with you. Meditation is fairly new for me, but I've started utilizing it at work. During times of emptiness my mind usually wants to grab a hold of a negative belief or anxious belief that causes anxiety, or I feel discontent because I am somehow not experiencing joy at the moment. I have been focusing on the quiet around me and telling myself to just be still. That's the best way I can describe it, even if it isn't quiet in my environment, there is a quiet place in my mind. I go there and sit. I have found that it leads to a better sense of peace when i do so. I'm glad that you have discovered meditation and that you are utilizing it to help you get through tough times.
